Pep Gaurdiola has agreed a new deal at Manchester city which will see him at the club for a further year.

Pep's current contract was set to come to an end at the end of the season. The Spaniard had been previously linked to England's national team manager spot , which is now held by Tuchel .

Initially, there were speculations that he would leave at the end of the campaign. However, he will now stay having agreed fresh terms with the club.

Pep joined Manchester city from Barcelona in 2016. He has seen indisputable success at the club winning 18 trophies, including 6 premier league titles. He also lead the club to their first ever champions league title in 2022/23 season.

Despite, the success Manchester city are in their worst losing streak having lost 4 of their last consequitive matches.

City lost to Sporting in 4-1 in their last champions league match after which Pep claimed that he was going to raise the mood of his players . He also expressed the desire to win the league title despite being 5 points behind league leaders Liverpool.

Among the challenges facing Gaurdiola's side this season, is an overwhelming array of matches owing to the fact that they will be involved in the new club world cup and an injury blow to one of his key players Rodri who has been sideline for the entire season with an ACL injury.
